P560 Planar Magnetics For 4 kW to 10.0

Application:
Transformers based on our 560 size core are designed for
topologies such as half and full bridge, full bridge ZVS,
and push-pull. Applications are 4 kW to 10.0 kW industrial
off-line power supplies, and military DC-DC converters
delivering up to 400 amperes for a single output or 20-50
amperes for multi-output magnetics. The benefits of this
product are small size, high quality, reliability, repeatability,
and superior thermal management. For the power it is capable
of delivering, this is a very small and rugged package.
A typical P560 part has a 3.7"x 2.5" (nominal)
footprint, which is only 1/3 bigger than a footprint of
a standard credit card, which is 3.5" x 2.0".
With heights from 0.800" to 1.200", P560 parts
are much taller than a credit card, but we are working
on it. Portable welding equipment is one of many applications
where P560 is very suitable, because a 5-10kW transformer
weighs only 0.5 kg. Depending on the power rating, 560
parts can run without any air flow for cooling. In this
case, they must be attached to a base plate with controlled
temperature. Transformers operating close to a maximum
of specified power limit must be cooled by a combination
of conduction and air flow. |
